One Year Later

With tomorrow being my 21st birthday, it’s also two weeks away from being my one year anniversary of starting this page. I feel it is appropriate to address some things I have been wanting to discuss.

When I first started this site, I wanted to review music and give artist’s that I respected their proper acknowledgment. After posting my Gorillaz album review for Humanz, I attempted to make reviews and posts on a schedule of three posts a week. This didn’t last long as I immediately found myself busy with school and life, so I opted for a weekly schedule. This did last for about a month before I found myself once again busy due to school and life. While I was on Summer break last year I immediately made it my goal to put out as much as I could as my content shifted from reviews to becoming mostly about individual musicians and the art of music itself. Over that Summer break, I found myself developing depression, which didn’t help my writing at all. With posts coming out almost once a month I wasn’t gathering much motivation to continue. Although, during these months I noticed my views were at an all-time high. This increase in viewership became my prime motivator as I decided to end 2017 with three posts I had been working on for weeks if not months.

After receiving almost 200 views between December 31st and January 1st I was finally able to produce content on a weekly basis and finally found my footing. This leads us to today, almost a year since I’ve started writing as a hobby. I’ve decided that while writing about music is absolutely my passion, I want to have more variety in my catalog. This means branching out from music and into other types of media such as films and games. Already having some articles prepared with some guest writers I feel confident that this expansion of variety will lead to more interesting and enjoyable content. While I still plan on writing mostly about music, don’t be surprised if a Marvel Cinematic Universe article comes out or even a film review here and there. I hope this expansion leads to more viewership while also giving myself more outlets to be creative with my work.

With the year anniversary being right around the corner, I’d like to thank everyone who has ever read or even clicked on something from me. Being able to express myself through writing has been a great source of happiness and joy. I would like to especially thank fellow writers such as Steve For the Deaf, Molasses, MusiCommentator. These individuals have been a great inspiration to me and I am also thankful for their feedback.

Here’s to a more productive and diverse 2018 and 2019.

Thank you for your support,

Anthony

  1. Thanks for the shoutout, man! I’ve liked a lot of your content ever since I found you on here. I’m glad you are branching out, as I am also a fan of many films and games. Reading your take on them, I’m assuming, will be quite interesting.
